Inge-glas ® of Germany - Fruit & Vegetable Ornaments
These ornaments are considered to be the oldest style of glass ornaments produced. Since the earliest Christmas trees were adorned with natural fruits and nuts, it was inevitable that the glassblowers patterned many of their first molds after these reminders of abundant harvests. German Christmas Ornaments marked with The Star Crown" is your guarantee that the ornament is produced in a centuries old tradition in the family workshops of Inge-glas ® of Germany in Neustadt, near Coburg, Germany.

Gurken - Pickle Ornament<br>Inge-glas of Germany

A pickle used as an ornament on the
Christmas tree seems odd at first, but
this is an old German tradition.

When decorating the Christmas tree, it was
a practice to hang the pickle ornament
last, hidden among the twigs. The first
child on Christmas Eve to find the
Christmas pickle ornament would receive an
extra gift.

Not quite as large as "The Legendary
Pickle" ornament, this middle sized
pickle ornament is a tougher find on the
tree for older children.
