Germany since 1856. Since the earliest designs,
German craftsman today still produce smokers as
forestry workers, miners, chimney-sweeps, mailmen,
bird watchers and other different folk. Our smokers

The home of the first smoking man was Heidelberg, a
small village near Seiffen in the Erzgebirge. By
word of mouth, it is known that Ferdinand Frohs and
his nephew Gotthelf Friedrich Haustein produced the
first smoking man in 1856.

Nordic Biathlete
KWO Chubby Smoker
One of several smoker designs introduced this year by this
very creative and respected German maker. This Bi-athlete
appears to be ready to take on the cross-country skiing
portion of this Nordic Alpine sporting event.
Decked out with his competitive attire and rifle on his back,
the dual event requires that the bi-athlete stops to shoot
targets at 50m throughout the event.

KWO in 2011, this little fellow has made his way to
the Beer Garden, holding a pretzel and litre of lager!
He comes naturally dressed in lederhosen, with an Alpine

Chimney Sweep
2020 Ulbricht Smoker
Here is a Chimney Sweep depicted as one would expect with
ladder in one hand along a chimney brush in the other and of
course a pipe in his mouth!
This is a sweet "puddle pants" smoker design from the
Ulbricht firm. You will see his trousers bag at the floor. I
don't need to tell you why he wears a four leaf clover on his
hat - Seeing a Sweep on the street is good luck!
