For the Twenty-eighth year, The Frame Workshop will be honored to host a visit by family members of the respected German nutcracker maker, Holzkunst Christian Ulbricht, GmbH.
We welcome Gunther & Steffen Ulbricht, on their fourth visit since 2019. They will both be here to kick off our annual Christmas Open House. We are extremely honored as The Frame Workshop is only one of a handful of retail stops across the United States part of the 2026 Ulbricht U.S. tour.

This 2026 Classic Green Santa nutcracker pictured above showcases the attention to detail that is found in every item produced in the Ulbricht workshops. This handsome creation from Ulbricht's classic series proves that Santa Claus doesn't always wear red. The harmonious interplay of green and brown tones suits him exceptionally well. And the numerous details make him a real eye-catcher and a beautiful piece of Erzgebirge craftsmanship.

Gunther and his son, Steffen represent the third and fourth generation of this well known family firm based in the village of Lauingen in Bavaria and Seiffen in the Erzgebirge of Saxony.
Both have achieved certification as Master Wood Turners in Germany and have inherited great creative ability. Many of the most artistic of the nutcrackers produced today bear their designs. In his private time Gunther is a fine artist, painting both portraits and landscapes as well as being an avid hunter.

The tradition of releasing a new annual tour bird nutcracker continues in 2026 with a Snowy Owl. A special cracking bird, it is a limited edition nutcracker and measures 6-7/8 inches.
These unique "Cracking Birds" are available only through a select number of retail dealers in the United States that host a signing event during a personal appearance in 2026.

| This Snowy Owl follows the Pileated Woodpecker in 2025, the Flamingo in 2024, and the Osprey in 2023 but it all began with "The Woodpecker" in 1997 (Replica of a 1933 nutcracker.)

| Gunther has toured the United States on numerous occasions, and will make another return appearance to The Frame Workshop in Appleton - joining us for our Open House event at our location at 430 E Northland Avenue - Memorial Square!
If you reside somewhere else in the US, here is the Ulbricht's 2025 U.S. tour schedule (His full 2026 Tour is not yet finalized)... 2025 Ulbricht Signing Tour Starting here in Appleton, Gunther & Steffen typically travel onto the Nutcracker Museum in Leavenworth, WA and then several stops in Utah and California.
Hopefully you might be able to join us for this special evening and weekend in November. We begin decorating the shop in Early September...
