Ulbricht has designed some special and unique nutcracker designs for these
two important holidays celebrated in the Autumn - Halloween and Day of the Dead.
The "Dia de los Muertos", or the Day of the Dead, is one of the most important
holidays in the Mexican calendar. As in Europe, the deceased are commemorated
in Mexico on November 1st and 2nd. Their souls return to the families on this
day to visit and celebrate with them. Lanterns are hung up, carpets of flowers
point the way to the richly decorated mortuary altar. Plenty of food and drink,
and other refreshments should not be missing. There is dancing, singing and
laughing while there is a hustle & bustle on the streets.
Holzkunst Christian Ulbricht created this series of Day of the Dead nutcrackers that
were first introduced in 2022. Ulbricht has always had Halloween characters portrayed
for many years as smokers & nutcrackers including these Witches and Dracula which are
their latest nutcracker introductions.
