Fine Art & Limited Edition Prints > Susan Hunt-Wulkowicz Etchings

Welcome to the countryside! Through the artwork of Susan Hunt-Wulkowicz, you can see the beauty in the changing of the seasons as viewed by this artist who with her husband Dennis McWilliams left the Center for the Print in downtown Chicago as a result of soaring property taxes in 1989. Not surprisingly, Susan moved to rural Wisconsin, realizing a long-held dream. Susan's finished images are all original prints-created backwards, printed in black, hand colored with watercolors, signed and numbered in limited editions. Her artwork has always been imaginary, as she escaped the city by creating the places she'd rather be. These works became increasingly detailed to bring the fantasy closer to reality. As her eyesight changed, Susan turned to magnification for a greater level of fineness. Each image contains tiny details, such as insects and other creatures that the surroundings require. Images created since her move to Wisconsin that include the tiny lettering of scriptures, in addition to the names of family and friends. These details, woven into the imagery, have become a small trademark of her work.
