Over the years KWO has grown into one of the leading manufactures
of traditional hand made wooden art including these Smokers (Incense
burning smoking Men). KWO also produces Nutcrackers, Music-Boxes,
and Christmas Pyramids. They are all crafted in the rich heritage which
developed over centuries in the Erzgebirge - the Ore Mountains
of Saxony in Germany.

Erzgebirge Miner
KWO Chubby Smoker
The region of Germany from which the smokers were created
is known in German as the "Erzgebirge" or Ore Mountains.
This explains why we often see the wood workers of the region
today still depicting Miners as smokers, nutcrackers and in
other presentations. Typically these miners (or Bergman) are
portrayed in their dress uniforms.
