Martina Rudolph and her husband are among the leading woodcarvers in the
 Erzgebirge who produce wood shaved trees or span trees.  Martina learned
 the tradition of Spanbaumstecherei from her father Helmut Beyer, and
 opened her own small workshop in 1996.

Put the icing on the cake or on the top of your Christmas tree with this magnificent and delicate tree topper from Germany. 24 cm in size, is made entirely of linden wood. The design has a small hub in the center, with six red flat wooden stars and six wooden chip trees connect to the star on two levels. The chip trees are all individually hand-pricked with a sharp chisel. With this chisel, chips or shaved curls are drawn (cut) from a wooden stick until they line up like curls on the wooden stick.
