This is a replacement 18 note mechanical 
wind-up musical mechanism as used in small 
music boxes from Richard Glässer.  It 
was produced by  Nidec Sankyo Corp

The unit is designed to hold a small rotation 
plate (included) which attaches to a turning 
platform above with figures or scene.
