Q. What is Conservation Framing?
02/28/01
A. While not totally answered with one simple statement, it involves the usage of matting materials and mounting techniques that meet the Guidelines for Framing Works of Art on Paper & Canvas drafted by the Professional Picture Framers Association. It also incorporates mounting techniques that are easily reversible and special glazing materials.

Materials incorporated should not harm the value of the artwork in any way, should be reversible and in most cases should provide additional protection from outside elements.

In the hands of a qualified framer, we can greatly reduce the risks faced by works that are displayed.

Q. I have a Marine Corps cammie blouse that I need framed pretty much immediately when I come home from Okinawa, Japan on Jan 16th. Do I need to make an appointment to have this done? And about how much would that run me with frame included? It is a gift for my mom and I want it done before I have to come back over here. Please help me out with any information you can provide. I would need a frame that is about 22x28. I'm not for sure if that is exactly correct but it's close. I would appreciate any information you could provide me with!
