Expert Advice
Q. I have a signed and numbered (61/800) print by William J. Koelpin. It is "man's Best Friend". I am interested in selling this. Is this something you would buy, or do you know where I could sell it?

A. Steve,

This is not something that we would purchase, as we phased out most wildlife art and stamp prints several recessions ago.

Sadly much of the wildlife "limited Edition" scene is loaded with hype and questionable printing. Although there are exceptions, the demand currently is fairly low.

Your image by William Koelpin, although not known outside of Wisconsin, is a very nice print, Monitor Ebay for some time to determine what this might realize in a sale.

Sincerely,

Q. My mother gave me a framed print that she said she bought in the 70s. It is entitled ladybug. It has a pencil signature at the bottom of Charles Harper. It also came with a Charles Harper brochure from Frame House Gallery. Can you tell me anything about this piece?

Q. My husband and I have been collecting Charley Harper signed and numbered lithographs since the early 1960s. We have some that I never seem to find in any display of prints for sale. One, for instance is a large ( 20"w x 46"h) depiction of water striders. Is there any source for info on the values for insurance purposes? Also, can you tell me anything about our water striders? It is in the same colors as the more recent one. Thanks!
