C141 Starlifter Transport
10-14 Inch Wall Clock
The Lockheed C-141 Starlifter was a military strategic
airlifter introduced to replace slower propeller driven
cargo planes. The C-141 Starlifter was designed to
requirements set in 1960 and first flew in 1963. Production
deliveries of an eventual 285 planes began in 1965: 284 for
the Air Force, and one for the National Aeronautics and
Space Administration (NASA) for use as an airborne
observatory.
The aircraft remained in service for over 40 years until the
USAF withdrew the last C-141's from service in 2006

The C-5 Galaxy is a large military transport aircraft
originally designed and built by Lockheed. It provides the
United States Air Force with a heavy intercontinental-range
strategic airlift capability, one that can carry outsize and
oversize loads, including all air-certifiable cargo. The
Galaxy has many similarities to its smaller Lockheed C-141
Starlifter predecessor, and the later Boeing C-17 Globemaster
III.
The C-5 is among the largest military aircraft in the world.

C-17 Globemaster Transport
Wooden Wall Clock
The Boeing C-17 Globemaster III is a large military
transport aircraft. It was developed for the United States
Air Force (USAF) from the 1980's to the early 1990's by
McDonnell Douglas.
The C-17 carries forward the name of two previous piston-
engined military cargo aircraft, the Douglas C-74
Globemaster and the Douglas C-124 Globemaster II. The C-17
commonly performs tactical and strategic airlift missions,
transporting troops and cargo throughout the world;
additional roles include medical evacuation and airdrop
duties. It was designed to replace the Lockheed C-141
Starlifter, and also fulfill some of the duties of the
Lockheed C-5 Galaxy, freeing the C-5 fleet for outsize
cargo.
