Q. Did Ikki Matsumoto commission Frame House Gallery to publish his limited edition artwork? I have a limited edition serigraph by him that says Copyright Frame House Gallery 1978 World Rights Reserved? What does that mean? It is signed Ikki Matsumoto & numbered with an edition size of 750. Is this considered an original work of art? Please any info. would be helpful. Thank You

A. Ikki Matsumoto was indeed published by Frame House Gallery in Louisville, Kentucky at one time, along with Charlie Harper, his one time art teacher.

The publisher, Frame House Gallery is no longer in business.

Ikki produces the majority of his artwork as Serigraphs, similar as does Charlie Harper. Serigraphs, silkscreens are considered true Limited Editions, or Original Graphics, like stone lithographs and engravings. The inks used are very color fast.

Ikki still maintains an oline gallery. He closed his gallery on Sanibel Island, Florida in April 2006: Ikki Matusmoto Gallery He has moved back to Grorgetown, Ohio.
