Q. I have 8 3x5 pictres -3 horizontal and 5 vertical, can u suggest a layout for them? I would like to frame them todther in one large frame

A. Chaya,

Sorry for the delayed response. You can fit this design into a standard 16x20 inch mat with 2-3/4 inch borders all around. Place 2 of the 5x3 openings in the upper right and upper left corners, creating the top row.

Place 3 of the 3x5 openings (vertical) along the bottom, corners and middle one centered, creating the bottom row.

In the center row place 1 5x3 opening (horizontal) in the center, 9-1/2 inches from the bottom. Place the remaining two vertical 3x5 openings to either side, 2-1/14 inches from the left and right edges, respectively.

I layed this design out on our Fletcher F-6100 computerized mat cutter which took about 4 minutes to design. We could cut this for you in 3 minutes or less. I made each opening 2-3/4 x 4-3/4 inches of exposure.

Please E-mail The Frame Workshop if you'd like us to quote or cut this mat for you.

Happy New Year,

John Ranes
